Lance Pickard, M.D.
Board-Certified Urologist
My name is Lance Pickard, and I am a Board Certified Urologist at UCNT at our Flower Mound office. I am a multigenerational Texan, born at the original Baylor Hospital in Dallas and raised in Irving, attending MacArthur High School. I went to college at UTEP on an athletic trainer/sports medicine scholarship. I was awarded the prestigious job of student trainer for Don Haskins’ basketball program and fulfilled that roll for 2 seasons, then went on become the head student trainer in charge of training room and rehab facilities, then football. I received my Bachelor Degree in Biology/Chemistry Sciences in 1983.
After college, I had a 9 month hiatus, and I returned home and worked in construction and as a high school Biology substitute. I attended medical School at The University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio. Obviously from my background I was initially interested in Orthopedic Surgery, but I was quickly introduced to Urology and never looked back. I was accepted to the University of Missouri for my General Surgery and Urology Surgery Residency and finished all my training in 1994. I spent my first 16 years back in Texas in Abilene, where I chaired many committees at both Abilene Diagnostic Clinic and Hendrick Medical Center Hospital. Now, I’m back home in the Metroplex with many friends and family.
In addition to Urology, I am a musician (drums and guitar) and have been in many bands over the years. I also have a Masters Diving certificate from NAUI, and I enjoy hunting and fishing. My wife, Suzy, and I live with our Standard Poodle, Piper, in Flower Mound.
My job as your Urologist is to translate the science for you and for your condition as it applies to your life. I’m practical, pragmatic, down to Earth, and I don’t like to waste your time.
